Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority Mourns the Passing of Former Senator Alicia “Chucky” Hansen

(U.S. Virgin Islands): The Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority is deeply saddened to learn of
the passing of former Senator Alicia “Chucky” Hansen. Nathan Simmonds, Director of Finance and
Administration, said, “We join the community in mourning the loss of our colleague and friend.
Senator Hansen was a strong advocate for the voiceless and the disenfranchised, and she was
resolute in her ﬁght for fairness and humanity. She brought her distinguishable qualities to the
VIPFA and, in her wisdom and truth, spoke and acted freely to advance the issues aﬀecting her
beloved community. On behalf of the Board of Directors, management, and staﬀ, we express our
deepest condolences to her husband, Esdel Sr., her children, grandchildren, and extended family”.
